Just Sayin' - Join Us for the May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

This month I am following {Jenny Gilbert's Blog.}   We have approximately 50 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.   If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

The May Stamp of the Month is entitled Just Sayin' (S1505) (Set of 14). Here is a picture of this stamp set:

Loving this cute stamp set for scrapbooking, but went looking to Pinterest to see how I could turn this into a cute card.  I am sure that none of you spend much time there looking for inspiration, do you?  LOL  I peruse my favorite blogs each day and save cards/artwork that catch my attention.  Sometimes I save them because I like a technique or an artist's style,  This is what I found.

This card is not Close to My Heart.  It is created by an artist named Debbie Olson.  I love the chalky look and the way the varying sizes of boxes surround the sentiment.  I decided that I wanted to use this card for inspiration for my card.

Now don't laugh because my card looks very little like Debbie's, but it was a jumping off point.

Can you see where I used the Just Sayin' Stamp set?  The YOU + ME is pretty obvious.  Each of the squares was stamped from the circle, rectangle, and triangle shapes in the stamp set and then I hand cut (without measuring - GASP!!) 1/2" squares and glued them around to form a frame for my center image.

I also took a journaling pen and doodled the stitching around the main panel.  I am embracing my inner doodler, which is quite a jump for me because I have always been afraid of making a mistake.

Do you recognize the yellow flower?  It comes from the Brushed Assortment.  Normally it has a clear glitter gem in the middle, but that did not work with my artwork.  So, I popped it out and replaced it with a black sparkle.  I attached that with Liquid Glass.

I love a little glitter so I added some with a small piece of Black Shimmer Trim that I had scalloped and placed where the scalloped design is on either side of the stamped image.

This card is meant to be whimsical and colorful.  I so enjoyed making it and it makes me happy to look at it.  I hope it makes you happy as well.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I would love for you to show me a little love by leaving me a comment and then please go to our next artist, {Adeline Brill's Blog} and see what she has made with this adorable stamp set.

The Just Sayin' Stamp Set can be purchased for $17.95 or if you purchase $50 in CTMH products, you can add this stamp set to your order for an additional $5.  This stamp set is only available between May 1 – May 31, 2015.
You can purchase this stamp set as well as any of the supplies listed below on my website.

Stampers with an Attitude Spring Has Sprung Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Stampers with an Attitude Spring Has Sprung Blog Hop.  This month I am following  {Kimberly Moss.}  Who is the Stampers with an Attitude?  It is the Close to My Heart team lead by my fabulous upline, Kimberly Moss.

Our blog hop is a circular hop.  You just click on the link to the next blog at the bottom of this post and go visit the next blog.  If you get lost, I have all of the participating blogs listed at the bottom of my post.  Hope you enjoy seeing what our team has made for you.

Have you seen the beautiful Hopscotch Flip Flap Workshop that the very talented Lisa Stenz designed?  I purchased the directions from Lisa right before Hopscotch retired.  For my workshops I use current product, so I substituted our Brushed paper pack for the Hopscotch paper pack.

I love the floral papers featured in Brushed.  So vibrant!

Lisa designed an incredible layout!  It is like a scrapbooker's Christmas morning, full of surprises to open.  This layout holds 52 pictures!  Can you believe that? A 2 page layout that holds 52 photos.  How do you do that, you ask?  With our incredible Flip Flaps!  Close to My Heart makes this wonderful mini page protector in all different sizes that attaches to the outside of a page protector.  You can add more photos,  Picture My Life cards, memorabilia, and you can even "hide" your journaling if you choose.

Look at all of the Flip Flaps I used!

This is even more beautiful in person!  Local to Memphis?  I am holding Flip Flap workshops using Brushed or if you prefer, Jackson (our more masculine paper pack).

Hello Seasonal Expressions 2 Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Close to My Heart
Seasonal Expressions 2 Blog Hop

I am following {Maureen O'Sullivan's Blog.}   We have almost 40 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in our Close to My Heart Seasonal Expression 2 Blog Hop.   If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

Did you know that Close to My Heart released a new mini catalog called Seasonal Expressions 2?  It went live on April 1st and you can order from it until July 31st.  I love, love, love all of the new products!  We have 2 new paper lines - Blossom and Jackson.  Now, who doesn't love new patterned paper?

Thank you for hopping through our Blog Hop.

In the Seasonal Expressions 2, the Workshop on the Go for Blossom is a Card Workshop.  It is super cute.  It has an exclusive stamp set that is one that you have to have.  Great for all ages!  And it makes 15 cards.

I decided to make the Blossom Workshop on the Go cards as designed and then on a second set changed the paper pack to the Jackson paper pack to show you how versatile the stamp set and the card design is.  Close to My Heart includes 3 original card designs in this Workshop on the Go and who is to say that you cannot use the pattern for different paper packs?

So, on to my cards.

The card on the left is the card using the Blossom Paper Pack.  It is so bright and Fun!  The one on the right is the one I made using the Jackson Paper Pack.  I think it is pretty fun as well!

Here is a close up of my card again using the Blossom Paper Pack.

And here is a close up of my card using the Jackson Paper Pack.  I think it worked pretty well.  What do you think?

The Blossom Workshop on the Go calls for you to adhere a piece of the Juniper Thick Twine to the card and then cut a second piece, knot it and fray the edge and adhere it near the first piece of twine.  Here is another way to do it.

Take a 5" piece of Thick Twine.  You can either loop the twine once around a pencil and tie a knot or just tie a knot leaving a loop near one end, but leaving enough left that you will get the placement shown in the directions.

Then cut the loop so that you have two even pieces above the knot.  Fray the edges just by unraveling the twine above the knot.  Now adhere with a very thin line of Liquid Glass.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

By the way, I would love for you to leave me a comment and then please go to our next artist, {Tracey Pierce's Blog.}

You can purchase any of the supplies listed below on my website.

Seaside Summer Mini Album

Good morning!  Are you as ready for summer as I am?  We are going on vacation in June and I found this adorable mini-album designed by Annette Green, an incredible designer and a former Close to My Heart Consultant, that will hold my pictures perfectly.

Being a Close to My Heart Consultant, when I find a cute project, not only do I make one for myself, but I offer it to my customers as well.  The stamp set Annette used has retired and I sold my only copy (GASP!!!).  So I redesigned the embellishments on this album to include some newer stamp sets and some of our adorable Close to My Heart Cricut diecuts.

Here is my album:

I am offering this class in April in the Memphis Area.

This is a 12 page mini album cut out of Kraft Cardstock, which makes it pretty sturdy.  All pieces will be cut out for you and all that you will have to do is to ink the edges, do a little stamping, and assemble it.

Please RSVP to: mkgmt@aol.com

I am also offering this mini album as a kit for $20 and will ship it directly to you for an additional $5.  All of the stamping will be done.  All you will have to do is to ink the edges and assemble, following the full set of instructions that will be included.  To order, just click on the PayPal button below.  Be sure to include your shipping address.  I have kits ready to be shipped out now!
