I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to be on the Design Team and I love the colors for this challenge, but in planning for my card, I could not for the life of me figure out how to use the Sorbet. I started playing around with some stamp sets and decided to make my own patterned paper. The colors really made me think of the peacock stamp in the Circle of Life stamp set. As an Air Force wife, we were stationed in Turkey. I remember all of the beautiful patterns on their rugs and pottery and the peacock was a prominent feature in their designs.
For the patterned paper, I started off with Colonial White cardstock and stamped and embossed the Pear circle from Connections. Then I double stamped and embossed the flower from Unity in Sky Ink, slightly turning the stamp for the second stamping. Finally I took the damask stamp from Connections and stamped between the circles in Sorbet Ink. The damask was not embossed. I wanted the circles to stand out.
My peacock is stamped with Pear Ink onto Pear Cardstock and embossed. I added the pale blue sparkles to the peacock and then finished the card with a Sky Blue flower with a Filigree brad in the middle. I finished the card by adding a pale blue sparkle in the middle of the Filigree brad. All of the papers' edges are sponged in Cocoa Ink.
Please check out the other design team member's projects
and then create your own project using these colors and must include CTMH products, but do not have to be 100% CTMH. If other products are used, a list or description of what was used would be appreciated. Remember to post it on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog by 10 pm Sunday night. You could win some fantastic prizes from our January sponsors, Haley Dyer and Susan Winter. Thanks Haley and Susan! Vicki Wizniuk is our Guest Designer and is also participating in this week's color challenge.
