Fly Away with the Artiste in August Blog Hop

I just love the any shape days for the Artiste in August Blog Hop.  I can spend the day slowly strolling through the 700 images in the Cricut Artiste Guide to see what strikes my fancy.  Oh, by the way, this is a circular hop and  Pamela O'Connor is the blog in front of mine.  We are a group of Close to My Heart Consultants who are making a different project each day using our brand new Close to My Heart Exclusive Cricut Artiste Collection.  Each day we will be focusing on a different shape or box that you can cut out with the Cricut Artiste cartridge.

I am so glad that it is any shape day.  In strolling through the Artiste Guide, the butterfly box on pg 73 caught my eye.  It was very elegant and classy looking and I thought it would look great in this patterned paper from the Avonlea paper pack.

I cut the box and the butterfly at 3" just like the guide said.  Then I went to the Assembly handbook to see how to put it together.  I found the box on pg 55 ad can you say easy?  Oh my super easy to put together, which I did after I inked the edges in Slate Ink.

No glue died in making this box.  No glue, no tape.  Can you say, "WOW!"  I put some Sparkles on my butterfly because you can't ever have too much bling.  Then I attached my butterfly to the box with two small velcro dots that Close to My Heart is selling now.  (Love velcro too, thanks Close to My Heart!)  These are tiny velcro dots perfect for this kind of papercrafting.  Pamela O'Connor showed how to use the velcro dots on these boxes.  Check it out here.

I am loving my little butterfly box and hope you try one too.  If you do, please link your page in my comments and I will go look and see your creation!
