Close to My Heart Holiday Expressions Blog Hop

Welcome to the Holiday Expressions
New Product Blog Hop!

This month I am following {Melissa Robinson's blog}   We have 20 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in the Holiday Expressions New Product Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

Did you hear that our latest catalog, Holiday Expressions was released on September 1st.  I am over the moon with the best catalog I have seen.  So many products, so little time.

Right away I jumped on the Shaker and Confetti Thin Cuts (Z4309)

and Shaker Window Foam and Acetate (Z4310).  The Window foam is foam tape that is formed in a circle for you to make the shaker with.  It is continuous so none of your goodies escape, making a shaker card very easy to put together.

In the next few months I will be making a lot of these cards.  Have I told you I loved them?

I used the Boutique Paper Pack (X7235B) and the Fabulous Birthday Stamp Set (C1747).  Here is my card.

I stamped the cupcake with Charcoal Ink (Z2831), the frosting is Ballerina (Z6501), the sprinkles are Sugarplum (Z6500), the candle is Glacier Ink (Z2841), and the flame is Saffron Ink (Z2851).

And check out the Silver Sequins - Loose (Z4304).  There are sequins and teeny stars.  Turns your cards into really WOWZAS!

Just a few tips.  Static is not your friend with this card.  Static causes your sequins to clump and not move.  So it was fantastic that Close to My Heart also included the Anti-static Pouch (Z4220) in this catalog. The way I get rid of static is probably overkill, but so be it.  I take the non-scratch film off the acetate window and wash the window with soapy water, rinse and dry (I used an anti-static cloth - don't laugh at me).  Then I cut the circle out using the thin cuts and stamped it.  I ran the anti-static pouch over the circle.  Then I took out the sequins, and yes, I pounced the anti-static pouch on them as well.

I applied the foam circle to the stamped circle and poured some table salt on the stamped circle and swirled it around, making sure to touch the exposed foam circle.  Then I poured the sequins in the recess, pounced a little anti-static powder on the inside of the acetate window and placed it on the foam circle.  Then I applied Liquid Glass (Z679) around the edge of the acetate window and applied the charcoal circle on top of this.

My card shakes pretty well now and the sequins aren't sticking together so I am pretty thrilled with the end result.  Hope you like it too!
