Holiday Sparkle/Seasons of Joy Blog Hop

Welcome to the Holiday Sparkle/Seasons of Joy Blog Hop.

This hop I am following {Cat Nowak's Blog.}   We have 14 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in our Holiday Sparkle/Season of Joy Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

Halloween is just around the corner.  I have such great memories of when I was a child, trick or treating with my friends.  I was such a clumsy child that I tripped up and down the curbs, my mother holding my arm so I wouldn't fall.  But the fun and anticipation of receiving candy from the neighbors and the Halloween designs on the store windows made it such a special time for a young child.

So, I love Halloween.  I like the colors, the pumpkins, the costumes, and the witches.  I wanted to share that with my customers so I have been busy putting a workshop together to make some Halloween projects.  And I used a Christmas Cricut cartridge to do it!

The first project came from the Season of Joy Digital Cricut cartridge (Z3296).  You have got to have this cartridge.  FYI, Cricut is only producing digital cartridges now.  Your Expressions is obsolete and Cricut is no longer supporting it.  This has nothing to do with Close to My Heart; it is Cricut's decision.  So, when the fantastic Christmas sales start, scoop up a Cricut Explore and start creating.  Let me know if you are having problems with it.  I love my Explore.

So, back to the cartridge.  Here's a sample of the images on this cartridge.  Don't you LOVE them?

There are also 3 D images like these:

And here is a girl elf that, by changing a few colors,

She became a witch!!!

Another consultant, Julie Carriere, designed the witch above, but I wanted a more expressive face, so I designed the face!  Her features are purely shapes - half circles, circles, and the eyebrows are parentheses.  Isn't that fun?  Amazing with just a few changes, the Christmas elf became a witch.

The treat bag below was designed by Kelly Baxter, another talented Close to My Heart consultant.  As a consultant, we have access to some fantastic Facebook groups brimming full of artwork.  Kelly shared the picture of her treat bag and I knew my customers would like it.  I had to adapt it a little because the bag I used it smaller.  I am posting it here because I want you to see the varied uses of this cartridge.

The legs and feet are the Christmas elf legs and with a change in color and slicing the balls of the shoes, I have made witches legs.  I love that the Cricut Explore allows me to to this.  The fringe on the witch's dress was made using our Decorative Borders Thin Cuts - also my  favorite!
