May/June New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the May/June New Product
Blog Hop!

This month I am following {Wendy Kessler's blog}   We have 17 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in our May/June New Product Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

Did you know we have a new catalog?  Here it is.

Let me show you a few products I used from the new catalog.

Since I have been stuck in the house staying safe, I have been trying to stay connected with other crafters and showing them how to use Close to My Heart products through Facebook Lives on my customer page. I love teaching and this keeps the doldrums away a bit.

One of the techniques I taught last week was the Watercolor Salt technique.  I have done it before but wanted to show my ladies how to do this fun technique.

All you need is Watercolor Paper (Z4243), Watercolor Paints (Z3132), and salt.  For this one I used Kosher salt but wished I had chosen finer salt.  This was a two part tutorial since it needed to dry overnight.  Here;s the first part

Let me show you the Watercolor Salt Technique.

After letting my card dry overnight, here is the second part of the Facebook Live tutorial.

I was a little disappointed with the initial look of the card front but I don't just throw a card away so I grabbed my Medium Waterbrush (Z3225) and softened some of the hard edges of the salt granules.

Let me show you how I softened my Watercolor Salt card.

Here is my card:

Once I finished with the background, I stamped the trees from the Aurora - Scrapbooking  Stamp Set (Z3711)  in New England Ivy Ink (Z2835) and Fern Ink (Z2850).  Some of the trees are stamped second generation to add some dimension.

Then I added the pine tree boughs and the sentiment from the Tender Thoughts (B1707) Stamp Set in Espresso Ink.

I matted the card front with Espresso Cardstock (X5951).  I scissor distressed the cardstock before I adhered it to the French Vanilla Cardstock (X6046) card base.

The strip below the card front is a zip strip from the Aurora Paper Pack (X7256B).  The heart is from the Wooden Buttons Assortment (Z3668).  I colored the button with our Julep Shimmer Brush (Z3508) and threaded our Gold Embellishing Thread (Z4054) through the button holes.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I would love for you to show me a little love by leaving me a comment and then please go to our next artist, {Michelle Stewart} and see what she has made with the products from the newest catalog.

You can purchase these products as well as any of the supplies listed above on my website.
