September Close to My Heart Spotlight Blog Hop - Using Dimensional Elements

Welcome to the Close to My Heart September Spotlight Blog Hop!  If you have found yourself here from Toni Hinchcliffe's Blog then you are in the right place.  This month we are spotlighting our wonderful and versatile Dimensional Elements.  I needed a birthday card for my granddaughter, and wanted a very special one, so here it is!

For my card, I used the My Reflections Hooligans Level 2 Paper Pack. Can you believe that this is a Halloween paper pack?  That is why I just love our paper packs.  They are not just for one type of holiday or event.  I found this pattern in our Wishes book and made it different by using it on a clear acrylic card.  You use the acrylic card's transparency to layer your design.  Once you get the hang of it, you will love it.  An acrylic card has a WOW factor to it as well.

The Dimensional Element that I used came from Framed Fun.  It is the label holder with my sentiment on it.  It was meant to be a ribbon holder, but I cut off and sanded the parts that you thread your ribbon through.  Then I covered it with patterned paper from Hooligans, inked the edges with black and adhered it to the card.  I just use my tombow adhesive tape to adhere the paper to the acrylic card and it holds well.

What do you think of all of the bling?  A crown has to have jewels and my granddaughter loves purple and pink.  I think her mother might tell her that she cannot be the Queen for the Day because that position is already taken, but I sure hope she loves receiving this card on her 9th birthday.  Happy Birthday Jocelyn!
Here is another view of my card.

I don't know if you can see it, but I inked the edges of my acrylic card with Black Stazon Ink.  The regular black ink will wipe off of the acrylic cards.  I also stippled black ink onto the Gypsy Purple Cardstock strip beneath the crown.  Thanks for visiting my Blog!
