Welcome to the January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Beloved Bouquet

Welcome to the January Stamp of the Month
Blog Hop!

This month I am following {Wendy Kessler's Blog.}   We have 33 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.   If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

The January Stamp of the Month is entitled Beloved Bouquet (S1601) (Set of 14).   Here is a picture of this stamp set:

The flowers and the leaves are fun to work with and the sentiments are wonderful!  I made a fun Valentine card for this blog hop.

Here is my card.
Don't the flowers and leaves almost look real?  I did what is called two step stamping.  The flowers have an outline stamp and a solid stamp that allows  you to color the flower by stamping.  It is much faster than coloring with a marker or watercolor paint.  I like to add my touch, of course.

The big flower outline is stamped with Pomegranate Ink.  Do you see how the inside has variations in its color?  I achieved that by inking the solid stamp with Hollyhock and then before I stamped the image, I took sponge daubers and applied Smoothie and Pomegranate ink randomly over the stamp.  Then I stamped the image inside the outline stamped image.

For the smaller flower I stamped the outline images with Cranberry Ink.  Then I inked the solid stamp with Smoothie Ink and applied Poppy and Cranberry Inks with the sponge dauber and stamped inside the outline stamped image.

This gives the images dimension because they are not just one or two colors.  They are also all different, just like in nature.

The leaves were all stamped the same way.  I stamped the outline stamped image with Topiary Ink.  The inside solid image was inked with Sweet Leaf Ink and I sponge daubed Fern ink randomly on the stamp and then stamped inside the outline stamped image.

The paper used in the background is from our new paper pack, Charlotte, and the gold hearts come from the Treasured Puffies that can be found in the Charlotte Workshop Your Way or purchased separately.

The Beloved Bouquet Stamp of the Month Stamp Set can be purchased for $17.95 or if you purchase $50 in CTMH products, you can add this stamp set to your order for an additional $5.  This stamp set is only available between January 1 – January 31, 2016.

    1. Thank you, Wendy. I was tickled pink when I saw that the pattern did not show through the stamping on the flowers.
