The April Stamp of the Month is entitled Love So Sweet (S1904) (Set of 18). Here is a picture of this stamp set:
I didn't expect to love this stamp set so much. I looked at it and saw another butterfly stamp set. But I am loving this stamp set so much with the flowers and the leaves and the beautiful sentiments.
I had not used Feels Like Home paper pack (X7243B) much this catalog cycle so I decided to use it in my card. I just love the pairing of the mauve (Sugarplum) with the Charcoal, the Linen, and Fern.
Here's my card:
This is my all time favorite card size - 4.5" x 6" card. The base is made with Linen Cardstock (X6009). I wanted to emboss the sentiment but wanted it to be in gray so I inked the stamp set with Versamark (Z891) and before stamping inked it in Charcoal Ink (Z2831) and then stamped it. I used our Clear Embossing Powder (Z2088) and our Heat Gun (Z4252) to emboss the beautiful butterfly.
Then I colored the image with my wonderful Watercolor Pencils (Z4242) and then "painted" the image with the Shimmer Brush - Clear (Z3293). The sentiment also can be found in this stamp set and is also stamped with Charcoal Ink.
The image is matted with Fern Cardstock (X6003) and then the light side of Charcoal Cardstock (X599).
This card is a slider card. I actually cut the circle from the base of the card using our Shaker card frame. I was hoping to use the center as is but it was just too big to allow free movement of the butterfly. So I took a circle from our Stitched Circles Die Cuts (Z4181) and cut the center circle a little smaller. I added a small Silver Glitter Gem (Z4191) to the butterfly and voila - it is complete!
