January SOTM Blog Hop - Everyday Magic

Welcome to the January Stamp of the Month
Blog Hop!

Happy 2020!  This is going to be a great year!

This month I am following {Melissa Robinson's blog}   We have 16 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

The January Stamp of the Month is entitled Everyday Magic (S2001) (Set of  17).   Here is a picture of this stamp set:

The new year brings throwing out the clutter that has amassed during the year and getting ready for the new year's projects.  I found a few treasures that had been ignored and decided to re-design a card I loved for this blog hop.

We have a new catalog with tons of new products so I was totally delighted to use our new products for my Recessed Window Card (tutorial link).  I made one of these in 2011 and thought it was the most beautiful card I had ever made.  But it was pretty labor intensive so I redesigned it on Cricut Design Space, which makes it much easier to recreate.

So - about my card.  I used our new Spruced Up paper.  I love the colors!  The sentiment is stamped on the woodgrain pattern paper from that paper pack in Sangria Ink.  Lots of mats are used.  I love mats!

The branch and pine cones are stamped and cut out with the Spruced Up - Cardmaking Stamps and Thin Cuts.  I applied some Gold Shimmer Brush over the pine cones.  Can you see the little wood snowflake from the Spruced Up Wood Shapes?  I applied a little shimmer to it with the Clear Shimmer Brush.

And I finished it up with the Sangria pattern paper from Spruced Up that I pleated.  I am going to have a tutorial for that this weekend.  I had to reteach myself how to make a box pleat with paper.  Then I added the beautiful Sangria ribbon to my card - so luxurious.  It was fun to use!

Here's my card:
