February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Cherishing Her

Welcome to the February Stamp of the Month
Blog Hop!

This month I am following {Melissa Robinson's blog}   We have 21 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

The February Stamp of the Month is entitled Cherishing Her (S2002) (Set of  23).   Here is a picture of this stamp set:

I think this is one of the prettiest stamp sets we have offered.  I love the font for the larger words and the flower bouquet is absolutely gorgeous and fun to color.

Today was a day of playing for me.  I knew that I wanted to feature the beautiful bouquet so I went to Cricut Design Space and pulled up Close To My Heart's Complete Creativity Collection.
Complete Creativity Digital Collection

I adapted a layout from this collection.  It is the one on the top left.   I sliced off the "grateful for you" in Design Space because I wanted more room for the Flower Bouquet focal point.  I then made the center panel larger.

Here is my card:

I started with the Floral Patterned paper from our paper pack called Celebrate Today (X7252S).  After coloring the flowers and assembling the card, I decided that this paper was too busy and turned it over to the other side - the pink patterned paper and liked it much better.

I used Raspberry Cardstock (X5974) for the border and the scalloped frame.  Nectarine Cardstock (X6043) is peeking from behind the scalloped frame.

I cut the flower in the left bottom from our Gold Foil paper (Z3365).  The leaves are cut  from New England Ivy Cardstock (X5959) and Sage Cardstock (X6045).  The flower is popped up with our Thin 3D Foam Tape (Z2060).

Here's a closeup of the coloring I did on the flowers.

The bouquet was stamped with our Archival Black Ink Pad (Z3271).

I colored the burgundy flowers with our Raspberry Shimmer Brush (Z3606).  I used our Tri Blend markers to color the rest of the flowers.  The purple flowers are colored with the lightest color of  Light Yellow Blend marker (Z2483) and then the lightest color of the Purple Blend marker (Z2492) - detailed with the middle and darkest colors.  I love that there are three shades of the same color in each marker - light, medium, and dark.
\
The small bluish flowers are colored with all three shades of the Green Turquoise Blend (Z2488).  The orange flowers are colored with the darkest and lightest of the Orange Blend marker (Z2480).

I like to use more than one color when I color my images to add interest.  These alcohol markers are wonderful to use and easy to blend.  The large pink flower is colored with first the lightest shade of the Light Yellow Blend marker (Z2483) (yes yellow) and then the lightest shade of the Pale Pink Blend (Z2496) and then the lightest shade of the Bright Pink Blend (Z2495).  I added the darkest shade of the Bright Pink Blend (Z2495) around the center of the flower.  I went back over the entire flower with the lightest shade of Pale Pink Blend (Z2496) to blend the colors together.

The darker leaves and stems are colored first with the lightest shade of the Earth Brown Blend (Z2478) and then the darkest shade of the Dull Green Blend (Z2486).  The lighter parts of the leaves are colored with the lighter and medium shades of the Light Green Blend (Z2485).

I wanted to more closely match our Raspberry color so I first colored with the darkest shade of the Bright Pink Blend (Z2495) and then went over it with the darkest shade of the Dark Red Blend (Z2497).

I added a little more interest by taking the Blender marker (Z2499) and removing color from each flower and stem so that it would look a little more real.

I added a little "shade" around the entire bouquet using the lightest shade of the True Blend marker (Z2491).  It causes the bouquet to "pop".

The centers of the flowers were colored with Black Shimmer Brush (Z4224).  Then I added the Silver Glitter Gems (Z4191) after I colored them with the darkest shade of the Orange Blend marker (Z2480).  Isn't it great that we can color our embellishments with our Tri Blend alcohol markers?  I can have any color gem I want!
