Smiles

I just finished spending a vacation with my daughters and their families.  My girls live far away from me so when we get together, I get to spend some quality time with my grandkids.  My oldest granddaughter, Kaitlyn, will be 17 next week.  Her mother posted a funny video today on Facebook of her bouncing a tennis ball into the air with a tennis racket while hula hooping.  She can also shoot baskets while hula hooping.  My sweet, talented Kaitlyn.  This card reminds me of her.

I used the Close to My Heart Blossom Paper Pack.  The stamped image is Smiles Begin with You (A1172).  The decorative border was cut with the Close to My Heart Cricut Artiste. The leaves in the stamped image are colored with Leaf Green ShinHan Marker.  The flowers are colored with my Blending Pen and Sunset Ink.

Did you notice the white shimmer trim?  Above it is green washi tape from the Boardwalk Washi Tape pack.  I adhered a Glacier Extra Thick Twine bow above the washi tape.

This was a very simple card.  It measures 6" x 4.5". The stamp is one complete stamp and is stamped with black ink.  Easy - peasy!

Stampers with an Attitude Focus on Paper Fundamentals Blog Hop

Welcome to the March Stampers with an Attitude Focus on Paper Fundamentals Blog Hop .  This month I am following  {Catherine Nowak.}  Our blog hop is a circular hop.  You just click on the link to the next blog on the bottom of this post and go visit the next blog.  If you get lost, I have all of the participating blogs near the bottom of my post.  Hope you enjoy seeing what our team has made for you.

This month our Stampers With an Attitude is featuring artwork with a Focus on our new Paper Fundamentals from the Spring/Summer 2014 Catalog. Paper Fundamentals is our fun to use new paper pack that has 10 different designs.  One side is cardstock and the other side has a glossy, embossed resist pattern.  There are 20 double-sided 12" x 12" sheets (2 each of 10 designs).

Right now, Balloon Ride is my favorite paper pack in this new catalog.  The colors are so spring-like and muted - very vintage and shabby chic.

For this card, I pulled out my Close to My Heart Wishes How to Book, page 27, called Lucky Layers.  I turned it on its side for this card.  I used our new Stamp Set called Give a Lift (D1581), which I colored with our Blending Pen and inks.  I added some embellishments from our Rosewood medley (my favorite as well), and then used the embossed side of the Paper Fundamentals that reminded me of an Art Deco pattern.  I think it went well with the feel of the era pictured in the stamp set.

Here's my card:

The Eiffel Tower is cut out of our Bronze Glitter Paper with the Cricut Artiste, pg 42, Accent 1, 1.25".

The Colonial White oval is cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, pg 42,  , 2.75" and the Saddle oval is cut at 3.0.  The entire card is 5" x 7".  The rose is cut with the Art Philosophy, pg 70, 2.5". I put a brown sparkle in the middle of the rose.  The edges if all the paper and the rose are sponged with Saddle Ink using a sponge dauber.

See the bronze scallop?  It is our Bronze Glitter Trim cut with our scallop punch.

Check Out My Ivy Lane Scrapbooking Workshop

Pink and Brown.  Add a little green and you have Ivy Lane.  I must admit that I was not sure about this paper pack.  I used so much pink one year that I became a little tired of it.  But in putting together these layouts, I found that Ivy Lane is very elegant and makes up such pretty layouts.  You really need to see them in person to appreciate how beautiful they are.

I am offering this Workshop as my March Scrapbooking Workshop.

Live in the Memphis area?  I have scheduled 3 different days and times for this workshop and I hope that one of them will work with your schedule.  I am  taking sign-ups now.  Click on the PayPal button below to sign up and to pay for your workshop or email me to arrange other payment options.

Dates:  Saturday, March 15th at 10 am (RSVP by March 6)   OR
Friday, March 28th at 10 am  (RSVP by March 15)   OR
Saturday, March 29th at 1 pm  (RSVP by March 15)

Can you believe it?  FOUR 2 page layouts for only $40!  Plus you take home the full sized stamp set that comes with the Ivy Lane Workshop on the Go.

I will have all your pieces cut out for you and all supplies are included except for your adhesive.  Bring your scissors and your adhesive and you are set!

Reserve Your Workshop Spot Now!

Don't live in Memphis?  You can take advantage of this as well.  Either go to my website and order the Ivy Lane Workshop on the Go and the Ivy Lane Complements and I will send you the Cricut Craft Room file to cut this workshop out on your own Cricut.  You will need the Close to My Heart Artiste Cartridge and you will need to add 8 sheets of cardstock (2 each - Bamboo, Hollyhock, White Daisy, and Kraft) from your stash.

OR let me cut it out and send it to you.  There will be a charge of $5 extra for postage.  The workshop will be mailed to you approximately 2 weeks after you order it.  Please click on the  drop down menu and order the out of town option.

Happy Halloween!

First of all, Happy Halloween!  Wishing you many Trick or Treaters, many spooky costumers, and awesome candy.

I missed my deadline with the Heart 2 Heart Challenges last week.  I hate missing deadlines!  But sometimes you just have to let it go and I did.

I was also in a Halloween Tag swap and I missed that deadline too.  On a roll here......

The challenge at Heart 2 Heart was to use lace as an inspiration.  Cobwebs are a spooky kind of lace.  Here is my scary tag.

Can you see that my tag is tombstone shaped?  Now how cool is that?  The tombstone is cut with the Cricut Artiste, pg 76, (EEK) Accent 1  at 6".  I used Slate cardstock and then sanded the entire piece to give the look of granite.

Then I stamped the cobwebs using Creepy Cobwebs (D1319). I stamped them with Black Pigment Ink and then immediately stamped them a second time, a little offset.  I think that gives them a spookier look!

The spiders are cut from our Tan and Glitter paper using the Cricut Artist, pg 77 (Halloween) Accent 4 (shift) at 3/4".

The pumpkin is cut with our new Cricut Artbooking cartridge.  I changed the proportion using Cricut Craft Room and made him a bit skinnier so that he would fit on my tag.  He is on pg 55 (i) Icon (Shift).  The Trick or Treat is on the same page. (i) Title.

Everything is inked with black except the tombstone.

I finished up the tag with black tulle ribbon and our Red Shimmer Trim.

Bon Voyage with H2H

Welcome to this week's challenge at Heart 2 Heart Challenges.  Our challenge this week is Bon Voyage. Bon Voyage means good journey in French. I took French in high school so for some reason FRance was on my brain. The Cricut Artbooking cartridge is also on my brain and I just had to use one of the super cute overlays from our new cartridge.

Here is my card:

The overlay was cut in Whisper Cardstock.  The Eiffel tower (I've been there!) was cut in Black cardstock with the Cricut Artiste cartridge.  The cloud and the fancy frame were also cut with the Artiste cartridge.  The plane is from the Artbooking cartridge and was cut with our Black glitter paper.  There is black Glitter Trim around the edge.  The card base is made from Indian Blue Cardstock.

So now it is your turn!  Let me see what you can do with our Bon Voyage theme.  After you finish your artwork please go to  www.heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com and post a link to your project.  I cannot wait to see what you make!
