Seasonal Expressions 1 New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the Seasonal Expressions 1
New Product Blog Hop!

This hop I am following {Michelle Stewart's Blog.}   We have 20 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in our Seasonal Expressions 1 New Product Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

Don't you love seeing new product?  I know that I do.  I wanted to make a card box and 6 cards for my January Card Club.  So I decided to bring back the card I made for the January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop and add 5 more.  Then I found a pattern for an easy to make box and Voila! here is my project.

This is a super easy card to put together.  They are basically all the same pattern.  At first I drove myself crazy trying to stamp the January SOTM onto a rectangular piece of White Daisy cardstock.  Then I realized that I could stamp on a 4" x 12" strip of cardstock and cut the stamped image with my paper cutter, leaving a 1/4" border around the stamped image.

I colored the border with various colors of Shin Han markers and if they needed a bit more of a mat, I added that as well.  The matted stamped panels were popped up with thin 3D foam tape.

I used one of our new paper packs called Chelsea Gardens (X7230B).  I love the blues and greens in this paper pack and was instantly attracted to it.

All of the stamping is done in Charcoal Ink and the matting was done with Charcoal cardstock. I used a second stamp set and thin cuts from the Chelsea Gardens line called Chelsea Gardens Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cuts (Z4158).  Sweet Leaf cardstock was used for the leaves. I used the Chelsea Gardens Dots and Gems as embellishments.

The box I made is called a Flip Top Box.  The instructions for it can be found here
