April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  This month I am following Pamela Ellison's Blog.   We have almost 60 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop and I am so excited that you are visiting my blog.  If you like what you see, I would love it if you would hit the follow button on the right side of my blog!

The April Stamp of the Month is entitled My Sunshine (Set of 8). Here is a picture of this stamp set:

This is one of my favorite Stamp of the Months from Close to My Heart and let me tell you, there is so much that you can do with it.  I will be using it repeatedly this month in my artwork.

Now let me show you my card:

For my card, I used the patterned paper from the Claire Paper Pack for the background and check out the patterned paper from the Tommy paper pack that I used for the sun.  I had actually cut this sun for the Easter card I made and had an extra one.  Don't you just love the hot air balloons from the April Stamp of the Month, My Sunshine, stamp set?

Let me tell you how I stamped the hot air balloons.  For the one in front, I inked it first in Pear Ink, but did not stamp it yet.  I added some Pacifica ink with a sponge dauber so that it would add a little interest and then I rolled the right edge in Outdoor Denim ink to shade it.  Then I stamped it onto the piece of cardstock that I had cut with the Cricut Artiste.  So easy yet it adds dimension to my balloon.  The back balloon is done the same way but I used Sky, Pacifica and Outdoor Denim as my ink colors.

The basket, cloud, and sentiment are stamped using the stamp set from the Chantilly Scrapbooking Workshop.  And, of course, my sun is stamped with the My Sunshine, April Stamp of the Month, stamp set. The sun is stamped with the same technique that I used for the hot air balloons.  I inked it first with Honey ink, added Smoothie with my sponge dauber, and then rolled around the edge with Sunset ink.  Then I stamped it onto a circle piece of cardstock cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

I finished off my card with a Sparkle Flourish and a seagull from the Color-Ready Trinkets Wooden Shapes.  Then I placed a Durables Artisan Stud in each corner of my card.  Don't miss the sewing I did around the edges of my patterned paper!  I got a new sewing machine for Christmas and this was the first time I used it for my artwork.
