July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Strong Roots

This month I am following {Melissa Robinson's My Heartfelt Sentiments blog}   We have 17 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

The July Stamp of the Month is entitled Strong Roots  (S2107) (Set of  11).   Here is a picture of this stamp set:

Look at this beautiful stamp set.  So much you can do with it.  Heat emboss it with gold embossing powder, color with our TriBlend markers or watercolor pencils, or just stamp it with ink on cardstock.  It will be so elegant.

I decided to try something different.  Here is my card:

First I made a stencil using one of the houses from our Cricut collection called You are Here.  I adjusted it to fit on a 4" x 5" piece of cardstock, though the stencil is actually 5" x 5.5".  I make the stencil bigger than the piece I am sponging onto so that I can start my sponging on the stencil.  I "attach" the 4" x 5" piece of cardstock to the stencil with washi tape (from behind) so it doesn't move.  The lighting is not great in my picture but you can get the idea of what I mean.

After I adhered the stencil to the white daisy cardstock I was sponging onto, I grabbed one of my Mini Ink Blending Tools and applied Toffee Ink along the bottom.  Referring to the images on the stamp, I added New England Ivy Ink, then Pewter Ink, then Carolina Ink, and then Bluebird Ink where I thought they would go when I stamped the images.  Then I stamped the house and the extra tree as pictured with our Black Ink.  I went back and "touched up" a little with the appropriate inks.  These are all sponged in with the Blending Tool.  Then I removed the washi tape and slightly moved the stencil and drew around the stencil with my Black Journaling Pen.  I offset the stencil again and drew a second line.  The sentiment was then stamped and the stamped panel was adhered with
Thin 3D Foam Tape

The July Stamp of the Month Stamp Set can be purchased for $18.95 or if you purchase $50 in CTMH products, you can add this stamp set to your order for an additional $5.  Or if you are a VIP Customer, you can get this stamp set FREE with a $50 purchase.
