Day 15 of the Artiste in August Blog Hop

Welcome to the 15th day of the Artiste in August Blog Hop.  We are almost halfway through the month and I have only missed one day!  This is a circular hop and  Pamela O'Connor is the blog in front of mine.  We are a group of Close to My Heart Consultants who are making a different project each day using our brand new Close to My Heart Exclusive Cricut Artiste Collection.  Each day we will be focusing on a different shape or box that you can cut out with the Cricut Artiste cartridge.

Today we are making the Purse that can be found on pg 41 in the Artiste Handbook and pg 13 in the Artiste Assembly Book.  I used the Close to my Heart Dakota paper pack to make this stylish purse that anyone would love to carry.  Don't you just love it?

My cute little purse has not one pocket, but two!  I put one on the back of the purse as well. I need all the extra storage that I can get.  I used one of the buttons from the Mini Medleys Antiqued Gold Collection to decorate the flap and then put one of our little velcro closures under the flap so that it would stay closed.

Also, notice the adorable ribbon on the pocket?  It is also cut with the Cricut Artiste in Pacifica cardstock.  Can you  believe that?  I cut it at 1/2" and then put it together with an Antiqued Gold brad.  The ribbon bow is so easy to make.  It can be found on pg 55 in the Artiste Handbook and pg 32 in the Artiste Assembly Book.  I love that I can make a bow in any color I want and no ribbon storage is needed!

Here is another view of my purse.  The box was cut out at 5", which is the size indicated on the Artiste Handbook.  I inked the edges with Pacifica Ink.
