Thin Cuts Blog Hop

This hop I am following {Melissa Robinson's Blog.}   We have 19 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in our Thin Cuts Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

This hop we are featuring our product line of Thin Cuts.  Close to My Heart has Thin Cuts that are stand alone and they also offer some with accompanying stamp sets.  I have chosen to feature both types in my artwork for this hop.

And here is my card.

I hope that you can see all of the thin cuts I have used.  I have been busy.

First I cut the Lagoon patterned paper from So Much Happy (X7241B) with our Thin Cuts - Stitched Rectangle Frames (Z4260).  I am loving all of our stitched Thin Cuts.  They give such a finished look.

Then I took the light gray patterned paper from the So Much Happy paper pack and adhered Lagoon (X6007) and Blueberry cardstock (X5987) and Silver Glitter Paper (Z3239) that had been cut with the scallop border die from the Thin Cuts - Decorative Borders (Z4241).  This is one time that I used the negative of the cut so that it would look like waves.  I then ran the paper with the waves through my cuttlebug with the medium size of the Stitched Rectangle Frames.  I then used both the frame and the rectangle.  This was matted on the light side of Mint cardstock (X5986).

The sun is cut from yellow patterned paper also found in So Much Happy.  I used the Thin Cuts - Stitched Circles (Z4181).

The boat comes from the stamp set/thin cuts set, Cruisin' to Adventure (Z4261).  This is an absolutely adorable set.  I stamped the boat using our Intense Black Ink (Z4189) and colored it with our watercolor pencils (Z4242) and I even used our Shimmer Brush - Clear (Z3293) to add some sparkle to the cloud. The card is finished off with a few of our I Heart Us Sequins (Z4270).

Now the inside of the card is where all of the magic happens.  This is a wiper card.

One of our Australasian Close to My Heart Consultants, Jennie Hunt-Weymuth, has a wonderful tutorial and Cricut Design Space file for this card on her blog.  Be sure to check it out.

Here's a video showing the inside of my card.

New Product Blog Hop!

This month I am following Melissa Robinson's Blog.}   We have 25 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

Close to My Heart just released our new Annual Inspirations Catalog.  There are so many "funtastic" products in this book.  Something for everybody!  I decided to feature the Adventure Paper Fundamentals paper pack.  24 sheets of patterned paper.  2 each of 12 different designs.

I also used some of the stickers from the Good Life Complements.

I love to make cards and scrapbooking pages as well as 3D art.  My latest endeavor is Art Journaling.  I am taking some classes and am using Close to My Heart products in my journaling.  Here is my latest page.

The only product used here that wasn't Close to My Heart was the acrylic paint and stencils used to make the background.  Next time I am going to cut my own stencils using my Cricut and our cartridges.

All of my houses are hand cut freehand from the Adventure Paper Fundamentals.  I have used our journaling pen and the starts and smaller hearts are stickers.  The clouds are cut using our new Flower Market Cricut Cartridge Collection.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I would love for you to show me a little love by leaving me a comment and then please go to our next artist, {Lela's Blog} and see what she has made with this adorable stamp set.

Why I Became a Close to My Heart Consultant Blog Hop

Welcome to the Close to My Heart
Why I Became a Close to My Heart Consultant Blog Hop

This hop I am following {Wendy Coffman's Blog.}   We have 18 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in our Why I Became a Close to My Heart Consultant Blog Hop.   If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.    Thank you for hopping through our Blog Hop.

I would love to tell you why I became a Close to My Heart Consultant.

I was a quilter and had never papercrafted.  My daughter had become a Consultant for another company and decided that I needed to be her best customer!  So I gave her my credit card and she purchased everything I needed and handed them to me in a bag.

"Here you go!" she said.

So I found myself holding a pile of products that I did not know how to use and she had lost interest in me and left me to figure it out.

I pulled out my pictures and started adhering them to the album.  Then I needed to decorate the page. I had apparently purchased lots of packages of stickers.  I needed a title so I got some alphabet stickers and set to work.  I soon found myself in a dilemma.  Not enough vowels.  I needed more vowels.  What could I do?

Buy more packages of stickers!  So I now had a ton of those not so desirable letters like Q and F and Z.  I was not enjoying this hobby so much.  Mind you, this was before Cricut came out.

Then one day my daughter decided to have a Close to My Heart gathering.  She had a friend who sold Close to My Heart.  I, of course, was invited - along with my credit card.  We did a simple project that had letters in it and a whole other world opened!!!  I could have all the blue A's and E's I wanted.  I did not have to have any extra blue Q's, F's and Z's.! Oh my!

One look at the catalog and I wanted everything!!  I knew my husband would not be as thrilled with my new hobby as I was and I hated to have to wait for his next paycheck to purchase more of these lovely stamp sets and inks.

That is when my friendly Close to My Heart Consultant mentioned the Consultant Opportunity.  I could become a Close to My Heart Consultant and I would get 22% off of the purchase of these wonderful products.  I could even earn free and half priced items!  The clouds opened up and the angels sang! Not really but I quickly signed up.

I have been a Close to My Heart Consultant for almost 9 years now.  My artwork has progressed past the Alphabet but in honor of this hop I wanted to share with you a stamped card with all the blue letters I wanted to use.  I did not run out, no sireee, or need to buy anything else.  And I even stamped on patterned paper!

Close to My Heart is having an April Recruiting Special called Baby, I'm Worth It!  Here is a flyer I made with the promotion.  Please contact me if you would like more information or are considering signing up as a Close to My Heart Consultant.  No obligation and you, too, can have all of the blue A's and E's you would like!

Thank you for visiting my blog.
