Stampers With an Attitude Focus on Ariana Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop.  This month I am following  {Debbie Andrews.}  Our blog hop is a circular hop.  You just click on the link to the next blog on the bottom of this post and go visit the next blog.  If you get lost, I have all of the participating blogs near the bottom of my post.  Hope you enjoy seeing what our team has made for you.

This month our Stampers With an Attitude is featuring artwork with Focus on one of our new paper packs called Ariana.  I hadn't picked up Ariana yet because I found it a bit intimidating.  Big cabbage roses have not been my cup of tea.

I know this sounds a bit funny but I kind of welcomed this challenge.  Mother's Day is coming up and I absolutely love the new stamp set, Mother's Day (C1577).  I decided to tackle those cabbage roses!

Here's my card:

The card base is Blush cardstock, all of the patterned paper is from Ariana, and the cardstock beneath the patterned paper is Outdoor Denim.  The oval scalloped frame is cut from Crystal Blue cardstock using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge, pg 52, Layer.  I changed the size using the Cricut Design Space (you can do this in the Cricut Craft room as well) to height: 4"  width: 2.8".

I cut an additional frame in Blush cardstock and kept the oval so that I could stamp my image. I thought it looked a bit plain so I stamped the sentiment, "Home is where your Mother is", repeated over the Blush oval in Blush Ink.  It adds a little pizzaz to the oval.  I then picked one of the super cute silhouettes and stamped it in Outdoor Denim ink.  Yes, I know that it looks black, but it really is Outdoor Denim!

I also cut (using the above measurements) using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge, pg 52, in White Daisy cardstock.  I wanted the white to show through the cut outs in the frame.

Everything was edged in Outdoor Denim ink using a sponge dauber.  I "broke" the sentiment up, putting part of it on the front of the card and the rest inside.  I also added the sentiment, Happy Mother's Day to the inside of the decorated card.  I just love it when the inside of the card is decorated!  Take a look:
