Good evening! Melissa and I are CASEing artwork from our new Seasonal Expressions 1 Catalog. Do you have one of our new catalogs? If not, let me know if you would like a catalog and I will be sure that you get one. Did you know that if you place an order on my website, Close to My Heart will send you a free catalog with your order.

This week I chose to CASE the Just Chillin' card on page 4. Oh and what do I mean by CASE? Copy and Share EVERYTHING! But this time I copied the main elements of the card and of course, the cute Got Snow? (C1764) Stamp Set. The Got Snow? Stamp Set is a Hostess Rewards stamp set. Usually you can only get it by using Hostess Rewards credit from holding a gathering but in the month of February, you will receive for FREE this stamp set as well as the 4 other Hostess Rewards stamp sets featured in the Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog by joining Close to My Heart as a consultant.

This stamp set is so cute, I would run, not walk to join Close to My Heart in February. Let me know if you would like more information. I would love to have you join my team.

After you see my post please head over to see what my partner in crime, Melissa Robinson has for you.

I teach monthly card classes and I love to use the cards I feature here in my classes. I turned the Got Snow? card into a birthday card. The card in the catalog used papers from 3 different paper packs. I love the papers in I Heart Us (X7242B) and chose to use papers just from that paper pack. Here's my card.

Inside of card.

Measurements for the Card
4.25" x 5.5"         Lined Patterned Paper
3" x 4.5"              Bluebird Cardstock (X5987)
2 7/8" x 3 3/8"    Rainbow Patterned Paper
1" x 3 3/8"          Blue Patterned Paper

The adorable bear is stamped with our Intense Black Ink (Z4189) onto the largest circle from the Thin Cuts - Stitched Circle (Z4181) while the Yay! is stamped with Thistle Ink (Z2840) onto the smallest stitched circle. I used Bluebird Ink (Z6508) to stamp the snowflake on the smallest circle from the Thin Cuts - Basic Circle (Z3318)

The inside is also stamped with the cute little penguin and is colored in with our Shin Han markers and our new Watercolor Pencils.  The stamp set, Something Fierce - Cardmaking (C1749), was also used to make this a Happy Birthday card.

Other Supplies Used
White Card and Envelopes Value pack (X254)
White Ribbon (Z4196)
I Heart Us Sequins (Z4270)

Tune in again, on February 28th, for the next episode and be sure to CASE one/all of the artwork we highlight and tag it  #ctmhinanycase on social media. We'll come looking for you and you may be a prize winner!

If not, let me know if you would like a catalog and I will be sure that you get one. Did you know that if you place an order on my website, Close to My Heart will send you a free catalog with your order.

This week I chose to CASE the Congrats card on page 148. Oh and what do I mean by CASE? Copy and Share EVERYTHING!

After you see my post please head over to see what my partner in crime, Melissa Robinson has for you.

Have you heard about Close to My Heart's Stamp of the Month program? Each month we offer a special stamp that is only available that month. I am using the January Stamp of the Month called Card Captions (S1901).

Who doesn't need a stamp with all of these different sentiments? I love the different fonts and sizes.

I decided to show you how you can take a card that you like and change it up a bit with different colors and papers to make it your own. Here's my card.

I have changed this card up so that I can use it in my Valentine card classes. Once again I used my Thin Cuts - Stitched Square Frames (Z4259). This is turning into one of my favorite new products.

These thin cuts allow you to cut quilt shapes that are "stitched" and you can even add more stitching just like you would on a quilt. I used the larger triangle and the small square for this card.

The paper packs used were from the Mix-in Paper Pack (X9003), and the dark side of Raspberry cardstock (X6018). I also cut a heart with our Black Glitter paper (Z3236) using our Thin Cuts - Stitched Hearts (Z4182).

Inks used were Raspberry Ink (Z2812) and our Intense Black Ink (Z4189).

Oh, and I forgot to tell you about how I made the Raspberry Colored dots on my 4.25" x 5.5" card base from our White Card and Envelopes Value pack (X254).

I cut a stencil with my Cricut using our Cricut Artbooking Collection (Z3503) with Grafix Stencil Sheets ((Z4244). I then applied ink using a Sponge Dauber (Z726). I love how easy it was to make a reusable stencil and add just a little interest to your background.

Tune in again, on February 14th, for the next episode and be sure to CASE one/all of the artwork we highlight and tag it  #ctmhinanycase on social media. We'll come looking for you and you may be a prize winner!

Good evening! And the new Holiday Expressions Catalog is live now! What a big bunch of gorgeous products! Let me know if you would like one or if you would like to place an order on my website, Close to My Heart will send you one with your order.

The weather has finally turned cooler here in Memphis and I am in the mood for Christmas. I wasn't prepared for how I would love this pretty pink and green Christmas card. This week I chose to CASE the Oh What Fun Christmas card on page 65. Oh and what do I mean by CASE? Copy and Share EVERYTHING!

After you see my post please head over to see what my partner in crime, Melissa Robinson has for you.

May I say that I am totally in love with our new Fancy Tags (Z4305) - Thin Cuts? These are a MUST HAVE! Some of the tags are stitched and really make your card extra special.

It also uses the Oh What Fun Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts (Z4240) to stamp and cut the tree and stamp the sentiment. I stamped with Clover Ink ((Z6507). Look at this adorable Santa Claus! Can't wait to use him.

This card is 5.5" x 4.25" and I used one of the White Card and Envelopes Value pack (X254) (which is such a great deal!).

Here are the measurements for this card. All of the patterned paper comes from the  Oh What Fun Paper Pack (X7238B)

  • 5.5" x 4.25" of clover patterned paper for the base
  • The White Daisy cardstock is next measuring 3.75" x 3.75"
  • 3.5" x 3.5" Green and white patterned paper
  • The tag is cut out of the pink dotted patterned paper
  • The tree is stamped onto white daisy, thin cut, and then popped up with Thin 3D Foam tape (Z2060)
  • I used a 1" x 4.25" piece of Raspberry Cardstock about 1/4" from the bottom of the card and then added .25" x 4.25" of the striped zip strip
  • Then I stamped "Merry Christmas) onto a .5" x 3.25" of White Daisy cardstock, dovetailed the ends, and popped it up with Thin 3D foam tape as shown
  • I tied a bow with the pretty Raspberry Baker's Twine (Z4216) and adhered it to the  card with Glue Dots - Micro Dots (Z2089)
  • Final step is to add the sparkly Silver Glitter Gems (Z4191)

This card is really festive in person so I hope you decide to make one as well.  It is a very simple pattern.

Tune in again, on October 25th, for the next episode and be sure to CASE one/all of the artwork we highlight and tag it  #ctmhinanycase on social media. We'll come looking for you and you may be a prize winner!

Good evening! I hope you had a great day. This week I decided to step away from the catalogs and spotlight our Make It From Your Heart, Volume 4 How-to book. Volume 4 shows 24 different card patterns and includes cutting instructions and artwork examples. I am CASEing card pattern #23 - the gorgeous card on page 51. Oh and what do I mean by CASE? Copy and Share EVERYTHING!

I used two different stamp sets on this card and one of the stamp sets also contains thin cuts. And do you know what is even better? The Falling for You - Scrapbooking Set (Z4144) is on Clearance for $9.75. The original retail price is $38.95. What a deal! I also used the mini stamp set, Delicate Flower (M1178) to make my patterned paper. I stamped using Memento Black Tuxedo Ink (Z899). The flowers and leaves were stamped onto the light gray paper from the Basics Paper Fundamentals.

I recorded a Facebook Live showing the techniques I used in making this card.

I apologize that it is recorded sideways but you can see what I am doing and how I watercolor the flower and assemble the card as well.

Here are the additional supplies I used for this card.

Now please head on over to my Partner in CASEing, Melissa Robinson, and check out how to make her cute little cards. I know I am going to head over there!

Tune in again, on August 16th, for the next episode and be sure to CASE one/all of the artwork we highlight and tag it  #ctmhinanycase on social media. We'll come looking for you and you may be a prize winner!

Almost a month after the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog went live on May 1st and I am still reveling in all of the new products. So many wonderful pieces of art to CASE but I chose the vibrant card on page 72 of the Annual Inspirations catalog. So this week I am CASEing the very masculine deer card. Oh and what do I mean by CASE? Copy and Share EVERYTHING!

Want to see this pretty card in the catalog but you don't have a copy of our new catalog? You will receive one free with your first order placed on my website or you can see it here online, or let me know you want one and I will be happy to drop one in the mail to you.

Here is my CASE'd card.

This card was very easy to make. I used a card base from our White Cards and Envelopes Value Pack (X254). I used the New England Ivy striped patterned paper from our Enchantment Fundamentals paper pack (Z3352). It is kind of hard to see in my picture but the green striped paper is matted with Linen Cardstock (X5946).  The stamp set I used is Hunting for Words (B1571).  The ducks are stamped repeatedly on Almond Cardstock (X5949) with Almond Ink (Z2827).  Don't they add so much interest to the background?  The deer is stamped using Nutmeg Ink (Z2834) on Almond Cardstock and fussy cut.  I applied a little tan watercolor to the buck to add some shading using our Watercolor Set (Z3132).

The gold shape is cut out of Gold Foil (Z3365) using our You are Here Cricut Cartridge Collection (Z3389).  I used the green twine from the Enchantment Ribbon Collection (Z3363) and finished the card with a Gold Pearl (Z3371).

Now please head on over to my Partner in CASEing, Melissa Robinson, and check out how to make her cute little cards. I know I am going to head over there!

Tune in again, on July 12th, for the next episode and be sure to CASE one/all of the artwork we highlight and tag it  #ctmhinanycase on social media. We'll come looking for you and you may be a prize winner!

Almost a month after the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog went live on May 1st and I am still reveling in all of the new products. So many wonderful pieces of art to CASE but I chose the vibrant card on page 69 of the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog. So this week I am CASEing the vibrant Big Thank You card.

I was so surprised to find this very feminine card was made using the Fresh Air Paper Pack (X7232B). I used a card base from our White Cards and Envelopes Value Pack (X254). I used White Daisy cardstock (1385) for the white daisy oval, the 3" x 3" square and the 1.25" x 5.5" strip (at the top) that was embossed with the Rose Embossing Folder (Z3343). I used 2 different stamp sets.  I used Beautiful Friendship - Scrapbooking (D1779) for the flowers and leaves.  The leaves and stems were stamped with Fern Ink and then I rock and rolled the edges into the New England Ivy Ink.  The veins of the leaves were also stamped with New England Ivy.  The pink blossom is inked with Pixie Ink and then rock and rolled with Raspberry.  The yellow flowers were inked with Canary Ink and then rock and rolled with Saffron Ink.

The oval is cut and stamped with the Fresh Air - Cardmaking Stamp Set/Thin Cuts (Z1486). I masked off the "Smile" and inked and stamped the rest of the pictured stamp.  Then I masked the rest of the stamp and stamped the "Smile" with Raspberry Ink.

Can you see the vellum?  It is 3" x 3".  The Fresh Air patterned paper measures 5.5" x 2.25".  I cut the thin strip from the Documented paper pack and it is 1/2" x 5.5".  I adhered Green Burlap ribbon over the thin strip.

Now please head on over to my Partner in CASEing, Melissa Robinson, and check out how to make her cute little cards. I know I am going to head over there!

Tune in again, on June 28th, for the next episode and be sure to CASE one/all of the artwork we highlight and tag it  #ctmhinanycase on social media. We'll come looking for you and you may be a prize winner!

Here is my CASE'd card.

Don't you just love this card? I used a card base from our White Cards and Envelopes Value Pack (X254). The patterned paper comes from two paper packs, Beautiful Friendship (X7233B) and Central Park (X7231B) The red and white polka dot patterned paper comes from Beautiful Friendship and the other two patterned papers come from Central Park. Saffron Cardstock (X5961) was used for the yellow paper and I used White Daisy cardstock (1385) for the white panel beneath the patterned paper and the white heart. I used Black Cardstock (1386) for the Big Thank You overlay.

The Big Thank You overlay is cut using my Cuttlebug and our new Thin Cuts - A Big Thank You (Z4174)

And here are the measurements used in this card.

So, here are a few tips for making this card.

Tip 1:

The patterned paper is adhered to a 3.75" x 5" White Daisy cardstock panel.

Tip 2:

I adhered the overlay to the patterned paper with one of my favorite tools, Bonding Memories Pen (Z553).

And that is it. Adhere the panel to your cardbase and you have a super quick card that is quite eye catching!

Now please head on over to my Partner in CASEing, Melissa Robinson, and check out how to make her cute little cards. I know I am going to head over there!

Tune in again, on June 14th, for the next episode and be sure to CASE one/all of the artwork we highlight and tag it  #ctmhinanycase on social media. We'll come looking for you and you may be a prize winner!

Did you know that we have a new catalog? The Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog went live on May 1st and I am loving all of the new products. So much to choose from but I fell in love with the beautiful card on page 61 of the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog. So this week I will CASE the beautiful Faith, Hope, Life card. What do I mean by CASE? Copy and Share EVERYTHING!

Want to see this pretty card in the catalog but you don't have a copy of our new catalog? You will receive one free with your first order placed on my website or you can see it here online, or let me know you want one and I will be happy to drop one in the mail to you.

Here is my CASE'd card.

I used a card base from our White Cards and Envelopes Value Pack (X254). The patterned paper comes from two paper packs, Documented (X7234B) and Central Park (X7231B) The lined patterned paper and the black pennant comes from Documented, the pink polka dot comes from Central Park. I used White Daisy cardstock (1385) for the white panel and the "Believe" circle. The flower was cut from our Watercolor paper (Z3146).

I am not one to sew on cards so I made holes with our retired ruler (sorry) and our Paper Piercer from our Piercing & Embossing Tool Kit (Z2046). I think it adds a little "oomph" to the card.

The flower and the Believe circle were die cut and then stamped using Ribbon Warrior Stamp + Thin Cuts (Z4184). Here is what comes in this set.
And here is a diagram of the card that you can use to make your card.
Graph pattern paper - 4.25" x 5.5"
Smoothie cardstock - 3.75" x 5"
Pink Polka Dot pattern paper - 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"
White Daisy cardstock - 3" x 4"
Black zip strip - 1.5"

So, here are a few tips for making this card.

Tip 1:

I made a light wash of color - very light - on the White Daisy Cardstock panel. I let it dry thoroughly before I stamped the words on it. You can see that I only painted a small part of the cardstock.

Tip 2: Once you stamp and cut out the flower, mix the two colors below evenly with lots of water and paint the stems and leaves of the flower.

Tip 3: The daffodil is easy to paint. I just used all 3 yellows, then added a little bit of orange, which I blended in with the medium yellow.

Be sure and use Thin 3 D Foam Tape (Z2060) to pop up the stamped panel and the flower to add some dimension to the card.

Now please head on over to my Partner in CASEing, Melissa Robinson, and check out how to make her cute little cards. I know I am going to head over there!

Tune in again, on May 24th, for the next episode and be sure to CASE one/all of the artwork we highlight and tag it  #ctmhinanycase on social media. We'll come looking for you and you may be a prize winner!
